Weapons of Mass Destruction

Biological, Chemical, Nuclear, Radiological are different kinds of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), each one with their dangerous and mortal effects. The end is the same: destruction, blood, dead… Many people think that produce them is a preventive plan to keep the global balance, however the planet could be destroyed with the use of these weapons.

No doubt, the economy is one of the more affected area, also is an unknown issue, but presumably is spending a huge amount of money, with this could sponsor social projects worldwide. It’s important to note that global military spending in 2009 increased to $ 1,400 billion; it’s amazing and depressing to see children with hungry, see crime on the streets, and see problems that could be eradicated with a small percentage of this money. The weapons demand significant amounts of money, and even more weapons of mass destruction, which due to their structure, require expensive materials and investigations that spends considerable resources. Besides these investigations produce impact on nature; in recent days there have been tense relationships between some countries that that build these weapons, the reason is that North Korea has been doing in their territory maritime practices, generating environmental disorder. But that’s not all, if we think about the damage that the world would be if an atomic bomb, a biological weapon, or any of the other is used, human and environmental destruction would be in great magnitude. The Japanese story for example shows how damaging could be these weapons, with the advance of technology, would be unimaginable destructive power.

Many believe that not everything related with the militia and its weapons of mass destruction, perhaps something good is that it creates a balance, specifically, the nations may think that if a country is armed in this way, you must do the same for not being helpless; also leaders could use these weapons because they fear such a response at the expense of equal or greater power.

Despite this seeming peaceable scenario, the history and the facts have had pronounced its verdict. No matter how WMD defenders have tried to justify, nothing can´t hide the victims, the wound and all the suffering linked by decades of bombing, proofs and demonstrations. Sadly, maybe the main desitions are out of our hands, but we can take a stand against this potential destruction and be radical. Let´s do it for the next generations, for the planet, for us…
